Are you feeling like you are not contributing to your household because you’re a stay at home mom? I mean financially.
Don’t worry, I felt the same way when I first embarked in this new adventure.
There were times when I felt guilty for having to reduce our two-income household to just one. Thoughts also tormented me at times when I thought I couldn’t make decisions or give my opinion to family issues because I was not helping bring money in. I was used to making my own money and spending or using it however I pleased and now that was gone.
So, what to do to get cash?
5 Ways to make Cash
There are many ways to make money but here are a few quick and easy ones by selling items you already own.
-
Have a Garage Sale
One thing that you can start with is sell what you already have. Any items that are collecting dust in your attic, basement or storage. Things you no longer need might be just what someone else is looking for. Especially if they are still in great condition! Go and search all your storage nook and spaces for those items you haven’t used in years. If they haven’t been used, that means you no longer need or have a use for them. Get rid of them! But get paid for them.
Check with your neighborhood association or group to see if they have a special date of when the entire neighborhood has a garage sale event. Usually they pay to be advertised in the local newspaper, which in return, gets you more shoppers.

Sell on Consignment
Most of us have jewelry, baby clothes or other accessories that we no longer use and can be taken to a local boutique. Having two boys, I know they seem to grow per second and can accumulate a stack of clothes or shoes they no longer fit into. You can go to a local boutique that accepts used clothing or accessories and ask if they would be willing to display your items in their store. Keep in mind that they might ask for a certain percentage to sell your items.
-
Sell on Facebook
I’m sure you already scroll through Facebook on your newsfeed so why not make cash from it. Join local groups that allow you to post your items up for sale. Since they are local, you don’t have to worry about shipping costs or packaging.
-
Sell on Etsy
If you are a crafter or vintage shopper, you might want to sell your overstock items. If you enjoy making crafts and don’t know what to do with them, you can become an Etsy seller and showcase your lovely handmade creations or curated vintage items. Just open up a store if you don’t have one. Here is my link that will let both, you and I get 40 FREE listings: (http://etsy.me/1VtuQw7).
Do you have inventory, maybe you purchased too many supplies for your craft projects and don’t know what to do with the surplus? List them on Etsy as supplies for other crafters to enjoy.
-
Sell at a local Flea Market/Swap Meet
Once again, find any and all gently used items around your home such as electronics, kitchen appliances or any fitness equipment and haul them out of your home. Although it was nice to have received some items as gifts for your wedding, birthday or other celebrations, you don’t need them taking up space. Especially if you no longer have a need for them.
Now, you will have more space in your home and opportunities to make a few dollars from selling off items you already owned. So, go on now and search every corner of your home for unwanted items that will bring money in your pocket and a smile on your face.
