As the heat intensifies in different parts of the world, so does our body heat especially after a long day of work. Today I’m reviewing the GhostPillow by Nature’s Sleep which was sent free of charge to provide my honest opinion of this much-needed product we use on a daily basis.

I first heard of GhostBed through this influencer site, which, if you wish to participate in campaigns and get paid for providing reviews and trying out different products, just sign up here.

GhostPillow Review

According to Dr. Michael Breus, Ph.D. and author of Good Night, he suggests you replace your pillows, especially if they are made of inexpensive polyester, every six months. Some recommend 1 to 2 years depending on the material they are made of.

But I’m sure you can feel when you need to replace your pillow, especially if they are causing you to not sleep well or hurt your neck and back when you wake up.

Well, that was the case with me, our pillows are getting up in age and have already given all they can give. So when I saw the GhostPillow campaign, I immediately signed up to try it. Plus, I had worked with them before in this post on the GhostBed Luxury Sheets Review which was also sponsored.

GhostPillow Unboxing

When I received the box on my doorstep, I was really excited to open it up and give it a try. My boys were home so they got excited and helped me unbox it and there they found the pillow nicely wrapped in tissue paper and a light fabric cover along with this Product Information Packet of documents.

With the documents, it explains the 5-Year Limited Warranty and what it covers. It does cover deterioration in the cell structure of the material that causes the product to not return to its original shape and any physical flaw in the material that causes it to split or crack despite normal use and proper handling.

At first, when I heard memory foam, all I could think of is the feeling of a hot pillow. But when I took out the pillow from the box, it was fresh and cool to the touch. Reading the paperwork, it explains that the Memory Foam and Gel Memory foam is a temperature sensitive material and therefore, the ambient room temperature may affect the material’s feel.

Meaning that if the room temperature is very warm, it may make the material feel extra soft. If the room is very cold, then the pillow will be somewhat firmer. The recommended room temperature is between 65-75 degrees Fahrenheit.

Features and Materials

Based on the information, here are some of the materials that this cooling pillow consists of:

Phase Change Material: Newest Thermo Sensitive Technology that senses heat and adjusts to keep the sleeping environment temperature neutral.

Performance Fabric: Cool to the touch and wicks away moisture on the Phase Change side.

Aerated Gel Memory Foam: Allows air to circulate and creates a plusher, more responsive feel.

Air Flow Mesh Scrim: An inner mesh scrim allows air to flow through the pillow keeping it cool while protecting the pillow’s shape and function.

Embroidered “Ice” Fabric Cover: Newest technology Ice Fabric is cool to the touch, ultra plush and kind to your skin. Removable for easy care.

Ergonomically designed to adjust to your neck and head to achieve ideal spinal alignment. Supportive, yet plush, and molded of solid pure gel memory foam.

My Thoughts about the GhostPillow

At first, after opening the box, there was this scent of a new pillow, kind of like when you buy a new car and I wondered if it was just because it was entrapped in a box but after reading their FAQs, it was actually the scent of lavender. I just couldn’t pinpoint what it was. Now, it has aired out so you don’t have to worry about any scents in case you’re worried about scents.

When I hear of foam, I feel as if it will be hot and make me sweat. But as soon as I took the pillow out of the box, it was very cool to the touch.

It’s very comfortable and my head sinks in like it should, without feeling restricted. There’s the right amount of support for a great night’s sleep and it truly does sleep cool!

I also like knowing that I can try this for over 100 days and it comes with a 5-year warranty and FREE shipping. There’s really nothing to lose when it comes to this pillow!

GhostPillow is a product of GhostBed by Nature’s Sleep, which makes a mattress that Consumer Reports rated very good or excellent in every category.

I hope I can get to try the mattress in the near future as it’s time for a new mattress as well.

One thing I noticed when I first laid my head against the pillow, was a slight breeze of cool air that touched my face. This was the air that was flowing through the holes in the aerated gel memory foam.

I didn’t use a pillowcase as I wanted to get the full experience of the pillow itself but if you feel the need to, you can add your own pillowcase besides the cover it already has.

I enjoy using it to prop myself up when watching a movie with the hubby or reading a good book as well!

Conclusion

I really liked the comfort this pillow gave me, however, I did feel it was a little too high for me as it’s measurements are 16″ wide x 23″ long x 6″ high. I am only a side sleeper and rarely sleep on my back or face down, so I wouldn’t be able to talk on that portion. But according to their site, it is for any type of sleeper.

One thing I noticed after using it, my ear would not be hurting as it does when I sleep on my side on my regular pillow. I really liked that, plus my head wasn’t sore either due to the comfort of the memory gel and plushness of the pillow.

If you really enjoy high fluffy pillows, then this is great for you. The only thing I wish this pillow offered, was that it could be washable. Only the outer zippered case is washable so that leaves you with the memory foam to wipe with a damp clean cloth with a mild detergent.

Other than that, I really enjoyed the pillow and hope it lasts until it’s time for a new one!

If you’re in the market to buy a set of pillows and want cool comfortable ones, then I do recommend the GhostPillow.
