Today’s challenge: A Brand New You, Effective Tomorrow. Tomorrow you get to become anyone in the world that you wish. Who are you? You can choose to be anyone alive today, or someone gone long ago. If you decide to stay “you” share your rationale.
This brought me to think about many famous people who have come and gone. Especially in one, ok two, Frida Kahlo and Wonder Woman. One real and one fictitious. I have always admired these strong women.
If you haven’t heard of these women, here is why I say I would like to be them for only one day.
Frida was a Mexican self-portrait painter who went through a lot of suffering in her life, but also many adventures (according to Wikipedia). She enjoyed bright colors and jewelry. You can also read more on her in Artsy.
When she was around 18 years of age, she suffered a major accident causing her pain the rest of her life. So, why you ask would I ever want to be in her shoes?
Well, she was someone who didn’t see her condition as an impediment and didn’t give up easily. Sometimes those that suffer less are those that give up right away. This is why I admire her and would want to be her for at least one day, to NOT give up in life.
Wonder Woman
On the other hand, Wonder Woman (according to Wikipedia) is a warrior princess who has many superhuman powers and who fights for love, justice, peace and gender equality. I have always dram of flying and possessing super powers.
I recall when I was younger, getting on top of a rock wall and jumping off as if I was flying. Being innocent and adventurous, I believe I flew that day. So being her would be wonderous.
We sometimes see others and imagine what it would be like to be them, not knowing we possess the magical powers in our own souls. We wonder and think, if only I was that person.
We are marvelous in our own unique way! I am who I am because that is how He made me, shy, loving and caring; that is I. So if I was to have that magical power of being someone else, maybe and only maybe just be these two women for only one day and then be ME again.
This is who I am.
P.S. I’d love to hear from you and see who you would want to be if you had the opportunity to become anyone you want to be?
